The National Capital Territory of Delhi, on July 24, 2026, notified the Delhi Specified Articles (Regulation of Distribution) Order, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•It outlines terms such as "Appellant," "Authorized Officer," "Commissioner," "Financial Commissioner," "Food and Supplies Officer," and "Specified Commodity" (referring to rice, wheat, or other government-notified goods).
•Issued regular licenses remain valid indefinitely unless suspended or revoked, but they are strictly non-transferable, non-assignable, and non-inheritable even upon the licensee's death.
•Temporary licenses may be granted for up to three months (extendable once) exclusively to address temporary service gaps in public distribution.
•Licenses can be sought by various entities including sole proprietors, self-help groups, registered cooperative societies, NGOs, partnership firms, LLPs, and companies.
It shall come into force from July 27, 2026.
